Did you know that if you’re caught speeding in a construction zone and there are workers present, your fine can double?

Yes, it’s true. In an effort to reduce the risk of collisions in a construction zone, speed fines will be doubled. To identify a construction zone, a sign is clearly posted marked "Construction Zone Begins" and "Construction Zone Ends". And remember that it is also an offense to disobey a traffic control person’s "stop" and "slow" sign, which can cost you fines between $60 and $500 and penalties of 3 demerit points.

Drive slowly and with caution in construction zones to stay safe and ticket-free!
