Daylight savings time starts this weekend!

We may be losing an hour this weekend, but the good news is, spring is around the corner! Daylight savings time begins this Sunday March 11th at 2am and the clocks move forward one hour. It’s a good idea to change your clocks before you go to bed on Saturday night.

It’s also a time to work on those safety projects around the house. Here are a few tasks to get you started:

  • Change the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors and test both to ensure they are working correctly.
  • If you have a BBQ, check the tank and hose for any cracks or leaks and if required, replace the tank. You should also fill up your tank to be ready for the nice weather!
  • Remove debris that may have compiled in the winter by cleaning downspouts and gutters.
  • Check your first aid kit and make sure you’re stocked up with supplies.

Don’t forget about your car. You should change your wiper blades, check your tire pressure and get an oil change so you’re ready for spring!
