Winter Driving Tips

With a snowfall warning in effect in the GTA and up to 15 centimeters of snow predicted by this afternoon, we'd like to remind all drivers to be extra careful today while driving and avoid being involved in a car accident. Although winter road conditions may contribute to the cause of an accident, insurance companies will still assign fault to a driver!

Here are a few tips to help you drive safe:

Clear Snow

Be sure to clear all of the snow off your car – from windows and roof – to give you full visibility while driving.

Slow Down

Adjust your driving speed to account for low visibility and slick road conditions. Allow for extra time to arrive at your destination.

Avoid Sudden Braking

Remember to allow more braking time by leaving a safe distance behind other cars. Sudden braking may cause your car to spin out of control.

Watch Out For Pedestrians

It’s important to pay close attention while driving for people and things you might not be able to see during a snowfall.

Check the Conditions

Check your local weather report before heading out on the road. If the road conditions are bad, you might want to skip the trip all together.
