Borokoy asks:

An at-fault collision will factor into your premiums for years but eventually it will go away, explains Anne Marie.

“Insurance companies typically factor an at-fault accident into the premium you’re charged for six years from the date of your accident. If your rates increased as a result of the collision then you should not be charged for it once six years has passed.”

At-fault collisions can be costly, but some insurers are more forgiving than others. Compare auto insurance quotes to find your lowest rates.
