Frequently Asked Questions

Whether you already have a quote or you haven't yet compared rates, these common questions will get you one step closer to car insurance savings.

I already have a quote. Now what?

Check your email to find your quote from InsuranceHotline.com from the address information@insurancehotline.com. In the email, you'll find a list of the quotes you received along with the contact information for each quote. You can contact the broker directly or give us a call at 1-855-821-7312 if you have any questions. You'll also see a copy of the driving profile you created for your reference. This is the information used to calculate your auto insurance quotes.

I started a quote but didn't finish. Do I have to start over?

First, check your email to see if you received an email from InsuranceHotline.com. If you got to the point where you entered your contact information we would have sent you an email with your quote information, or a link to finish the quote.

If you did not receive this, then you'll have to start over. Don't worry, the process is easy and simple. In a few short moments you'll be back on your way to auto insurance savings.

What information do I need to provide to get a quote?

Our quoter will ask you to answer a few standard questions about your vehicle and your driving and insurance history. We'll want to know:

  • The make and model of your vehicle, as well as the year you purchased it.
  • Information about where you keep your car. For example, in a private driveway or garage.
  • Dates for when you received your licence(s). In Ontario, for example, this may include your G1, G2 and G.
  • A bit about your insurance history, such as if you've been in any accidents and when they occurred. Don't worry, we know not everyone has a perfect driving record.
  • If you're part of any alumni, professional, roadside assistance, or other affiliated programs. These can provide significant savings.
  • If you're interested in bundling your auto insurance with your home insurance, another savings opportunity.

Remember, the more accurate you are when providing information, the more accurate your quote will be. Each of these details, along with any other requested information on the form, works to get you the best rate possible based on the information you entered. If you realize you've made a mistake, no problem. You can run another quote or have the broker correct it. Please note in doing so you may be offered a different rate.
